Spicy Oatmeal Breakfast

Here’s a recipe to get your morning started in a yummy way:

1/3 c dry rolled oats

1/2 c. milk  (or another 1/2 c. of water instead)

1/2 c water

dash salt (pink Himalayan salt is yummy!)

3-4 cardamom seeds from 1 pod

1/4 t. cinnamon

1/8 tsp. ginger

1/4 tsp. organic rose petal

1 medjool date minced (add this at the end when you cover the oats)

Put all ingredients in a saucepan and heat to a near boil, then turn the heat down to medium-low and occasionally stir, scraping the bottom every so often for 15+ minutes until the oats are cooked to your taste. Cover and turn the heat off for the last few minutes.  Add a spot of ghee or butter, perhaps a spot of maple syrup, and milk poured on top.  Enjoy!

This is especially nice for Vata and Pitta constitutions.  Serves one person.
